Our Founder
Myra McGovern brings more than two decades experience working with independent schools to The Polaris Collaborative. Before founding the consultancy in August 2025, Myra was the Vice President of External Relations at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) for three years. Prior to that, she served as the Vice President of Media at NAIS for eight years.
Myra loves helping schools and nonprofits work through crises because it’s an opportunity to help the best qualities of each community come to life. In her risk management practice, Myra helps boards and leadership teams overcome fear and think about risk holistically. She advocates for the power of risk management to make schools safer and to help boards and leadership teams see opportunities to become stronger and more sustainable.
